Parents - This is for you if:

  1. You would like to enhance your understanding of your child’s development:

    • By the end of the class, parents will be able to identify and comprehend key developmental stages in their child's life, gaining insights into how these stages influence behavior. This knowledge will empower parents to respond to their child's needs more effectively, fostering a supportive and nurturing environment.

  2. You would like to learn how to apply Child-Centered Communication Strategies:

    • Parents will develop practical skills in communicating with their child from a child-centered perspective. This includes recognizing and responding to the child's emotions, fostering open dialogue, and adapting communication styles to better align with the child's developmental stage. By implementing these strategies, parents can strengthen their connection with their child and build a more positive parent-child relationship.

Learning Objectives for Clinicians:

  1. Facilitate Parental Insight into Child Behavior: Clinicians participating in the workshop will acquire the skills to guide parents in understanding the underlying motivations behind children's behaviors. They will be able to employ a child-centered approach, helping parents interpret and respond to their child's actions in a way that promotes both emotional and cognitive development.

  2. Equip parents with practical intervention strategies: Clinicians will learn to provide parents with evidence-based, practical strategies to address and manage challenging behaviors. This includes developing tailored interventions based on a child's specific developmental needs, fostering positive behavior reinforcement, and supporting parents in implementing these strategies effectively within their family dynamic. The goal is to equip clinicians with the tools to empower parents in creating a harmonious and supportive environment for their children.

**Clinicians: LPC, LMFT and LMSW/LISW CEUs available
